How to Get Better at Sales Fast: The 30-Day Closer Plan
You don't need a year. You need 30 days, a daily plan, and a way to get reps. Here's how to get better at sales fast — without a sabbatical, a coach, or a $5K bootcamp.
Week 1: Diagnose
Most reps can't tell you their kill objection. That's the problem. This week:
- Track every "no." Write the exact objection word-for-word.
- At the end of the week, the top 3 objections = your training plan.
- Run 5 minutes of AI sales roleplay per night to baseline your Closer IQ.
Week 2: Drill the kill objections
Pick your #1 kill objection. Spar it daily, 15 minutes:
- 3 reps at medium difficulty.
- 3 reps at hard.
- Save the winning lines as your defaults.
Repeat for objections #2 and #3.
Week 3: Tonality and framing
Speed of speech, pause length, frame control. Drill voice reps in AI roleplay. The AI scores tonality. Your goal: stop sounding like you need the deal.
"Need is a smell. Buyers can hear it through a phone."
Week 4: Live application + review
Every live call gets a 60-second post-mortem:
- What objection killed it (or almost did)?
- What line would've won it?
- Drill that line 10× tonight in the gym.
By day 30, you've added 60+ scored reps, fixed your top 3 kill objections, and run a feedback loop on every live call.
The non-negotiables
- Daily reps. 10 minutes minimum. Skipping a day = compounding lost.
- Score yourself honestly. AI helps because it doesn't care about your feelings.
- Drill out loud. Typing rebuttals is theater.
Keep sharpening
- Practice sales roleplay with AI
- Structured AI sales training
- Drill AI objection handling reps
- Practice sales skills daily
FAQ
How fast can I really improve at sales?
30 days of daily drilling beats 6 months of "trying harder on calls." Most reps see a measurable close-rate bump in week 2.
What's the single highest-leverage skill to drill?
Objection handling. It's the literal moment deals die. Master your top 3 kill objections and your close rate moves immediately.
Can I do this while keeping my full-time sales job?
That's the whole point — 10–15 minutes/night in the gym is the entire commitment.
